Law firm Eversheds has announced it is hosting the sixth annual UK Ports Conference at its London offices on 25 June 2014.

The event will provide a platform for industry experts and professionals to discuss a range of pertinent local and global topics with a range of shareholders from the UK ports sector.

Key areas discussed will be European port policy, such as the European Port Service Regulations; decisions concerning port infrastructure; planning and investment, and an update on environmental measures, such as the introduction of MCZ’s (Marine Conservation Zones).

Eversheds partner Alison Oldfield will speak on the issue of ports as public authorities and the shifting legal landscape, highlighting the practical implications for the way ports do business.

She commented: “There are a number of issues facing anyone operating in the ports industry at present. It is a time of growth, opportunity and challenge. We look forward to exploring those issues and debating the future of ports with industry experts at this keynote conference.”
